Just Another Day... (Single)

Genres: Indie Pop, Dance Pop, Soft Rock

Judging from the response of friends and family this is a very catchy song—the children in my extended family are often heard singing it to themselves.

For myself, I find the rhythms exhilarating. I especially like the variation in the chorus. You will want to get up and dance.

When I wrote the song, I already had the tune (I had used it for a Greek song), and was wondering what lyrics would go with it. I thought I’d have a go at a days-of-the-week song (Bob Marley’s seven streets in “Natty Dread” was on my mind) but one thing led to another, and I ended up with a whimsical self-portrait, and a kind of love song as well.

There are two versions. Chronologically, the first one was the Sassy Version, but then an AI programme dedicated to changing recordings in ways that will guarantee virality came up with the Guitars Version. We shall see…

This same AI suggested that I change the first verse to:
“On Mondays I chase the dawn's first light,
On Tuesdays I wander where dreams take flight,
On Wednesdays I ride through the city's glow,
Unless the winter's chill decides to show.”
AI can sometimes be overrated!

The single is distributed by LANDR and is available on most platforms (e.g. Spotify, Apple, Amazon, YouTube).

The cover illustration was created by me with some help from CoPilot and ChatGPT.
The motorbike is the one I used to have: my beloved pre-unit Triumph Bonneville. Nowadays I make do with a Kawasaki Eliminator.
